Review
"This book's strength is its progressive view of the field. Barlow and Durand do an excellent job of presenting the need for a multidimensional, integrative system of studying abnormal behavior. They provide the clearest illumination of reciprocal causation and its relation to integrative models of abnormality. . . Congruent with this integrationist approach is the authors' successful exploration of cultural differences. The unique use of case studies should heighten student interest. The authors use data from their clinical practices and use actual pictures of such clients. This makes the cases come to life."
"The cases are well-done, provide a welcome relief to technical reading, and bring disorders to life. They are stories that have impact and thus provide a tool for consolidating memory."
