James Stewart, the author of the best-selling calculus texts, along with two of his former Ph.D. students, Lothar Redlin and Saleem Watson, collaborated in writing this book to address a problem they frequently saw in their calculus courses. Many students were not prepared to "think mathematically" but attempted to memorize facts and mimic examples. This trigonometry text has been designed specifically to help students learn to think mathematically and to develop true problem-solving skills. Patient, clear, and accurate, this text consistently illustrates how useful and applicable trigonometry is to real life.

Jamie (pre calculas)
By Jamie Kelly
This book is not highly concentrated in trigonometry, but it contains lots of topics on conics mathematics which will prepare students for calculas. I think some of the solutions could have been easier to follow. however,i would rather study this book than any other trig book to prepare for calculas.i think no other trig book will help you prepare for calculas the way this one does. About over half of the book deals with conics mathematics and advanced algebra which is what you need to prepare for calculas.
On the other hand,Analytic Trigonometry (By Barnett) is the best trigonometry textbook in the world, but it will not help you to transition into calculas. Trigonometry (By James Stewart) will be your best option for calculas preparation.
I also recommend Algebra and Trigonometry (Right Triangle)By Bittinger and Beecher, along with its students solutions manual. The solutions manual contains solutions for the odd numbered problems, and answers for the others. You really don't need solutions to all of them because most of the problems are alike anyways. This is also the best algebra and trig text in the world. I have all of these texts. James Stewart's Trigonometry will be even better with a private tutor.
In conclusion, the best books that will help you to prepare for calculas is algebra and trigonometry(Right Triangle) and trigonometry (By James Stewart).
Moreover,i've never seen any bad reviews for algebra and trigonometry(Right Triangle). All five stars for this book.

Great book, but...
By Bricio
This really is a great book. It's easy to follow, and the explanations are concise. I liked how they organized the chapters and the exercises. The "applications" part of the exercises is interesting in how the lesson can be seen in real-life situations. I liked it overall, but if you're really going into calculus buy "Precalculus: mathematics for calculus". It practically covers the same stuff concerning trigonometry as this book. I strongly recommend the other one if you're going into calculus. It's just the same but with algebra, obviously.

Understandable
By jennifer
I'm reviewing my trig and tried the review books, which I found very confusing. Stewart's book guides you step by step and was easy to navigate. Honestly, I don't haven't tried the other college texts but I'm satisfied with this one. I recommend it.
