good but more advanced textbook

This textbook covers standard material for a first course in ordinary differential equations with some partial differential equations (such as the one-dimensional heat equation) and boundary value problems. It is the only DE textbook I know of that deals primarily with computing Fourier series of polynomials using a cute integration by parts trick to evaluate the Fourier coefficients. It does not cover electrical networks. It also assumes the student is familiar with matrix theory already, which is why I say it is "more advanced". (In the US, it is becoming more and more common to integrate enough matrix theory into the course for students to be able to solve very basic systems of linear DEs.)
One great thing about this book is that it covers the material very well and it has lots of exercises. Another is that the author has kindly posted pdf of the textbook free on his website (just google for it - it's easy to find). An excellent book, on the difficulty level of Boyce and Diprima, whose pdf is freely available.
